It’s hard to believe that we are nearing the end of 2019. A lot has happened within the Home Builders Association of Greater Austin these past 10 months, with the staff and volunteers hard at work since Jan. 1. We have learned a lot through our education series, we have built and elevated relationships through networking events, we have given our time and resources to amazing charities, we have advocated on behalf of our members via government relations, we have honored and celebrated Austin’s best in the industry through our MAX Awards and Million Dollar Club Circle, we have partnered with schools to bring awareness to future generations regarding workforce development and we have grown our membership and happily welcomed new builders, developers and affiliates.

I am proud of all that has been accomplish — and we aren’t done yet! We are committed to finishing the end of 2019 stronger than how we started. We have planned some fun and even festive events over the next few months and would love for you to join us.

11|15|19: The 2019 Big Texas Sporting Clay Shootout

This annual event is a big hit with our members and team spots sell out every year. Our 200 attendees can anticipate a fun-filled day of shooting, food and prizes with a casual atmosphere. There is ample opportunity for building relationships and networking. Join us from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Capital City Clays for a Big Texas Sporting Clay Shootout!

11|30|19 – 12|29|19: The Holiday Home Tour

We are excited to introduce a new and festive event with our Holiday Home Tour. The HBA has worked closely with the Leander Chamber of Commerce to develop this FREE event and will be held on weekends throughout the month of December, with a soft opening on Nov. 30.  The grand opening of the tour kicks off on Dec. 7 and coincides with the City of Leander Tree Lighting. The tour will include homes in Leander, Austin, Cedar Park, Georgetown and Liberty Hill. Oh, what fun we’ll have as we tour the beautifully decorated homes of our builder partners, which currently include Chesmar Homes, David Weekly Homes, Highland Homes, Lennar, M Signature by Milestone, William Lyon Homes and the 2019 HBA Benefit Home built by Taylor Morrison benefitting HomeAid Austin. Be on the lookout for tour maps, an app and a magazine as the event draws closer.

12|03|19: President’s Reception and Installation

Join us for an evening of celebration! We will be giving thanks to our 2019 board for all of the amazing things they have accomplished and will honor a few with awards for outstanding work and efforts this year. And then we will pass the gavel to our incoming president and install the 2020 board. Join us from 4-7 p.m. for a cocktail hour and hors d’oeuvres at the Phillips Event Center.

12|04|19 Wine’d Down Wednesdays

Attend our monthly Wine’d Down Wednesday social gatherings for some fun, talk business and wait out that infamous Austin traffic. Our location varies from month to month because we understand our members live and work in various parts of town. In December, we are excited to spotlight a member showroom with Lavish Kitchen and Bath in the Domain. Join us from 4-6 p.m. as we relax, wind down and enjoy great conversation.

January 2020: Annual Housing Forecast

It is hard to believe but our annual kick-off event is the Annual Housing Forecast and will be here before you know it: Jan. 14, 2020.  Join us from 7:30-11:30 a.m. at the AT&T Conference Center. Tickets to this highly anticipated forecast will go on sale soon. Don’t wait too long or they could be sold out. We will announce our lineup of speakers soon, along with information on partnership opportunities.

June 2020: The Parade of Homes

The HBA is proud to announce The Reserve at Lake Travis as the site for the 64th annual Parade of Homes. The Parade will take place over three weekends: June 13-15, June 19-21, and June 26-28. Each of the HBA Builder Members will showcase a themed home in addition to a property in The Reserve’s new Cypress Cove Treehouse Collection.

We hope to see you soon at one of these great events!
