Sunfield

By Katie Agness

Located in Buda, Texas, Sunfield is a master-planned community that boasts world-class amenities and homes from top builders within one mile of the Austin city limits and 15 minutes to Austin-Bergstrom International Airport. Offering affordable new home prices, residents enjoy the laid back, hometown feel of Buda while being close to the “vibe” of Austin. Buda has grown into a thriving extension of Austin featuring local breweries, eateries and a wonderful downtown district with retail and entertainment.

“Sunfield’s location, amenities and builders set the community apart from others,” says James Feagin, President and CEO of Scarborough Lane Development, Inc., the developer for Sunfield. “Sunfield’s affordability and amenities are unmatched anywhere in the Central Texas area. We are still growing and developing the community to better serve our current homeowners as well as our future ones.”

Development for Sunfield broke ground in 2008, with the first lots sold in 2010. Since then, more than 2,600 lots have been developed, and 2,000 more lots are currently under construction or in the planning stage. “At full build out, Sunfield has the potential to have 6,900 single-family homes,” Feagin says. “Our home prices range from the $200s to $400s and lot sizes from 40 to 60 feet depending on the builder, making Sunfield an affordable option at varying price points.”

Sunfield is known for having an abundance of amenities, including two amenity centers that are currently up and running for residents of all ages and interests. Sunbright Amenity Center houses a splash park, picnic pavilion, Junior Olympic lap pool and ample shade structures. In June, Sunfield recently opened its most prominent amenity, the Lazy River Amenity Center, which has a lagoon pool with waterfalls, an activity pool with a basketball hoop, a 1,000-foot-long lazy river and multiple picnic pavilions with BBQ pits and shade structures for your next family event. Throughout the community are miles of wide, paved walking trails, covered mailbox centers that double as school bus stops, catch and release fishing ponds, large and small dog parks, pocket parks with playgrounds and much more.

“Our recently opened Lazy River Amenity Center has been a huge hit among residents and new homebuyers,” Feagin says. “You won’t find all of these amenities in other competing master-planned communities at the price point offered at Sunfield.”

To further enhance the community’s amenities, Sunfield has an onsite Lifestyle Coordinator, who organizes and coordinates events and gatherings throughout the year. From movie nights and BBQs to pool parties and fun runs, Sunfield offers a variety of events for various interests and activity levels. Additionally, the community hosts holiday-themed events where kids can expect to see an appearance from Santa and the Easter Bunny.

Homeowners can choose from various award-winning designs and styles from six builders, including William Lyon Homes, CenTex, Pulte, CastleRock, Gehan and Chesmar. “The homes in Sunfield are constructed by the area’s top builders, utilizing the newest methods and popular designs for the Hill Country,” Feagin says. “In June, we revealed the latest homes in a new community model park, which included 14 furnished model homes from all of our builders that are available for people to tour at a single location.”

Whether a family, young professional or active senior, Sunfield has activities and amenities to attract all types of homebuyers. “Sunfield is really a community that appeals to all ages,” Feagin says. “For seniors, we have a lap pool and miles of walking trails. For young professionals, the dog park is a popular place to hang out after work and unwind. We feature two amenity centers that allow families with children and grandchildren of varied ages to have fun, such as the splash pad and our Lazy River.”

For families, Sunfield will soon have a daycare within the community. Expected to open in Spring 2020, Kiddie Academy Education Child Care has broken ground on a 10,000-square-foot facility, which will include two playgrounds and a splash pad. Accepting children aged six weeks to five years old, Kiddie Academy is a nationwide daycare with over 220 locations, and focuses on nurturing the intellectual, social, physical and emotional growth of its children.

In addition to the Hill Country community’s wealth of amenities, residents are also attracted to its close proximity to city life. “Sunfield offers homeowners easy access to employment centers throughout the Greater Austin area as well as easy access to family favorites such as the New Braunfels area,” Feagin says.

For homebuyers interested in an amenity rich master-planned community, with homes from top builders that are close to Austin, Feagin encourages you to visit their web site at Sunfieldtexas.com. “But to get the real experience you need to come check out Sunfield in person,” he says. “I promise you will be amazed.”
